It’s the year 2035. The sun has just risen over the Gulf of Oman, casting golden light across the Sustainable City in Yiti. For the thousands of families who call this place home, life feels like stepping into the future — yet it’s real, it’s here, and it’s happening every day.
I wake up to soft, natural light filtering through the smart glass windows of my villa. The air inside is cool, perfectly regulated by energy-efficient systems powered entirely by the solar panels on my rooftop.
Breakfast is made with fresh produce — much of it grown right here in Yiti’s community hydroponic farms. My children grab their school tablets while I check the electric shuttle timetable on my phone. No car needed today.
Stepping outside, the streets are quiet — not because they’re empty, but because they’re filled with electric shuttles and e-bikes instead of cars. The community was designed to be walkable, green, and free of noise pollution.

Education here isn’t about textbooks alone — it’s about preparing the next generation to thrive in a greener, smarter Oman.
After work, I meet friends at the marina, where yachts powered by clean energy float against the backdrop of Yiti’s rugged cliffs. Cafés spill out onto pedestrian promenades, filled with families enjoying the cooler evening air.
Weekends are for golf, sailing, and eco-markets where residents sell everything from handmade crafts to organic honey. The city feels alive, yet calm — buzzing with activity but never overwhelming.
Back in 2025, the Sustainable City in Yiti was just a bold idea. Today, in 2035, it’s the model of what future living looks like:
